Premier Padel, the world’s leading professional padel tour, and the International Padel Federation (FIP) today unveiled a series of significant strategic developments and long-term renewals, underscoring the sport’s explosive global growth. These announcements solidify the foundation of professional padel and set the stage for continued expansion and innovation.

Flagship Majors Secure Multi-Year Extensions:
Three of the most prestigious events on the Premier Padel calendar – the Italy Major (Rome – Foro Italico), Paris Major (Stade Roland-Garros), and Qatar Major (Doha – Khalifa Complex) – have all been renewed with multi-year agreements. These renewals highlight the enduring appeal and strategic importance of these tournaments, which will remain cornerstones of the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour. The sustained growth of padel is further evidenced by a remarkable 30% increase in Premier Padel broadcast viewership in 2025.
Strategic Partnerships and Calendar Enhancements:
In a move to ensure continued excellence in a padel heartland, Octagon Spain has been confirmed to manage all Premier Padel tournaments in Spain through 2032. This long-term agreement promises to deliver world-class events for both players and fans in a country deeply rooted in the sport.
The padel calendar is also seeing key additions and adjustments:
- The Cupra Germany Premier Padel P2 is set for Dusseldorf, taking place from September 22nd to 28th, 2025, at the Castello D-Live.
- The Cupra Costa Daurada Tarragona Premier Padel P1 will be an indoor tournament held from July 28th to August 3rd, 2025, at the Palau Esports Catalunya – Anella Mediterrania, a venue with rich sporting heritage.
- The FIP Junior World Cup is confirmed for Costa Daurada Reus, Spain, from September 29th to October 4th, 2025, demonstrating a strong commitment to nurturing future talent.
- The FIP Intercontinental Cup has been strategically postponed to 2026 due to a congested summer player workload. Details regarding its format, venue, and major partners will be announced soon.
Padel’s Growing Influence and Olympic Ambitions:
Premier Padel also announced a groundbreaking partnership with FIFA, the global governing body of football. A major padel event was hosted in Miami for world football stakeholders ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, showcasing the sport’s growing appeal and its ability to integrate with other global sporting events. Premier Padel intends to pursue more such exhibitions with major sports bodies in the coming months.
Further demonstrating the sport’s upward trajectory, significant progress has been made with strategic partner Hexagon Cup. The innovative team-based tournament is on track for FIP recognition, with plans underway for expansion into new and emerging padel markets.
These developments follow the successful BNL Italy Major Premier Padel tournament and recent crucial meetings between FIP President Luigi Carraro and International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach and incoming President Kirsty Coventry. These discussions underscore the ongoing collaborative efforts to advance padel on its Olympic pathway, a key long-term ambition for the sport.
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Chairman of Premier Padel, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The renewal of our Major tournaments in Rome, at Roland Garros, and in Doha is a powerful endorsement of Premier Padel’s long-term vision and global appeal. These milestones reflect not only the continued rise of our sport, but also the deepening strength, stability and growth of the professional tour.”
FIP President Luigi Carraro added, “It’s fantastic to see the calendar mature into a stable, long-term roadmap – forming the backbone of the professional sport. Developments such as the FIP Junior World Cup also show how we are working to support the entire pyramid, strengthening padel for all levels for the benefit of everyone. From our collaboration with major international stakeholders to the continued growth of grassroots and youth competitions – we are building an inclusive sport with deep foundations in communities around the world. All of this contributes to our long-term Olympic ambition…”
