The Bahraini capital of Manama is set to make history as it prepares to host the BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2026, marking the first time a world event in the sport will be held in the Middle East region. The prestigious tournament is scheduled to take place from February 7 to 14, 2026.

This landmark event will be the second tournament in the 2026 Para badminton season, kicking off shortly after the Egypt Para Badminton International, slated for January 12-18, 2026. The roster of eligible and qualified players for the World Championships will be determined by the Para Badminton World Rankings to be published on November 11, 2025, following the conclusion of the Japan Para Badminton International 2025.

The 2026 Para badminton calendar has been finalized, featuring a robust schedule of 16 tournaments worldwide, with the possibility of additional events being announced.

Following the highly anticipated World Championships in Manama, the circuit will move to Spain for two Spanish Para Badminton Internationals in Vitoria and Toledo. April will see the action shift to Prague for the Czechia Para Badminton International.

The Middle East will welcome the circuit back in May for the Fazza Dubai Para Badminton International, before the tour heads to Europe for the France Para Badminton International and the British & Irish Para Badminton International in June.

Beyond Asia and Europe, the global reach of Para badminton will be showcased with events in Africa and South America. Uganda will host a tournament from July 6-12, followed by Brazil from July 27-August 1, and Peru from August 3-9.

The final quarter of the year will see the circuit return to East Asia, with China, Japan, Thailand, and Indonesia all playing host to international tournaments. In addition to these Internationals, Para badminton will also be a featured sport at the Asian Para Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, in October.
