Egyptian squash talents Youssef Soliman and Fayrouz Aboelkheir have received late call-ups to the highly anticipated SmartCentres PSA Squash Tour Finals, set to commence on Monday, June 23rd, at Toronto’s Revival Film Studios. Their inclusion comes as a result of the withdrawal of compatriots Tarek Momen and Amina Orfi.

Youssef Soliman, World No. 9, will be making his debut at the prestigious Tour Finals following the immediate retirement of former World Champion Tarek Momen from the PSA Squash Tour. Soliman has enjoyed a remarkable season, reaching the finals of the Silicon Valley Open and Ace Malaysia Cup, and achieving his first World Championships quarter-final appearance, ultimately earning him the ninth spot in the “Road to Tour Finals” rankings. He will compete in Group A alongside top seed Mostafa Asal, World No. 4 Joel Makin, and current English No. 1 Marwan Elshorbagy, promising an electrifying start to the tournament.

In the women’s draw, the unfortunate withdrawal of World No. 5 Amina Orfi due to injury has opened the door for her long-time junior rival, World No. 14 Fayrouz Aboelkheir. Aboelkheir, who finished 13th in the “Road to Tour Finals” standings, secured her spot after higher-ranked players Rowan Elaraby and Nada Abbas were also forced to withdraw due to injury and visa issues, respectively. As Orfi was a top-four seed, the women’s groups have been reconfigured. Japan’s Satomi Watanabe now moves to the No. 4 seed position and will compete in Group B with Olivia Weaver, Sivasangari Subramaniam, and now Aboelkheir, while USA’s Amanda Sobhy shifts to Group A.
